Press+Reviews
"Listeners will be haunted by the way Collier captures the teens' fear as they rely on their wits to escape. Collier keeps her narration steadfast as Addy learns to trust herself and leads her friends to safety. Collier's gripping performance heightens the harrowing survival story in this short but impactful listen."
"Tyla Collier delivers the author's narrative on how centuries of abuse to Black Americans led to deep unrest and the founding of the Black Panther Party. Collier's narration gathers strength when she describes scenes of Bobby Seale and Huey Newton's early organizational attempts in 1966."
"Tyla Collier aptly voices Lamb's hesitancy to befriend the daughter of the town's racist optometrist. Ultimately, Lamb's kindness has disastrous consequences. Each narrator is paired perfectly with a specific character. Collier sweetly voices Lamb, successfully depicting her gentleness."

"Tyla Collier's Ti Moune is filled with wide-eyed childlike innocence throughout her journey. Her scenes with Jordan Alexander as Daniel Beauxhomme are playful and endearing."
Broadway World
"Collier is a commanding presence onstage. It is apparent that she is connected to Ti Moune in this production. Her storytelling comes through her beautiful movement as choreographed by director Gerry McIntyre. Each movement has purpose and adds to the story being told. Collier’s clear and powerful voice is pleasant and is well suited for this role. She shows her connection to Ti Moune in the songs “Waiting for Life,” and “Pray” where she is intensely connected yet powerfully individual..."
Front Row Reviewers
"There is not one weak link in this ensemble, so it seems almost unfair to single out performers, but...Tyla Collier grabs our attention with her Little Inez..."
The Boston Globe
"...The scenes in the Memphis music hall are elevated by the stirring pipes of Tyla Collier..."
"When Violet is en route, she winds up at a music hall where the singer (Tyla Collier) executes an intense and intoxicating solo."
